State Rep. Kristin Phillips-Hill formally announced her candidacy for state Senate during a campaign reception Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the Wisehaven Event Center, according to a news release.

Phillips-Hill told The York Dispatch in early July that she had been “looking very seriously” into a possible run.

The York Township Republican, in the midst of her second term, will be looking to replace Sen. Scott Wagner, R-Spring Garden Township, who is running for governor and has said he will not seek re-election for his Senate seat.
